On the official programming dates of the European Mobility Week, which starts today, Friday, September 16, Benidorm has started its specific programming that had its prelude, last week, with Benimov and Benimov Experience, the sustainable mobility vehicle fair, during the weekend.
From today until next Thursday the 22nd, Benidorm will develop a wide range of innovations in environmental matters focused on permanent work on mobility, sustainability and climate change, seeking to make the city better, more comfortable and friendly.
The tender for the second Low Emissions Zones project has been announced today, which will cover the entire city - Levante, Poniente and Centro - with which it is intended, in accordance with European, national and regional legislation, and by virtue of the Recently approved municipal plans on energy and adaptation to Climate Change, improve the quality of life of residents and tourists, the air and their health through initiatives that lead to reinforcing the control of polluting vehicles, the loading and unloading of goods and the bus mobility. The Low Emissions project for the entire city of Benidorm has a grant from the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda.
But the main factor to review today is to have an application that will allow you to be guided around Benidorm, locating car parks and roads. The objective is to reach guided parking and enhance the reality and effectiveness of low-emission zones.
With this initiative, Benidorm is more incardinated in the DTI reality, modernizes the city and applies innovation in governance for the immediate future, absolutely innovative, for a better city for residents and tourists.
Also today and until 2:00 p.m., there have been guided climbs to the upper platform of the Tecnohito. The ascent has allowed a height view of the new urban composition of Benidorm. Thus, the new configuration of the Avenida del Mediterráneo area and the streets of Valencia, Puente, Pérez Llorca, Bilbao, Esperanto, Emilio Ortuño and Arcos Iris are an excellent reference for change in the urban scene and public space, from the perspective of sustainability.
The program of activities and actions for Mobility Week will continue this weekend with the opening of the park and ride car park on Avenida de Cuba, which has 500 spaces and in which a service of park and car park spaces will be established in the city. And on Sunday the two new electric buses that will operate in the city in the near future will be presented. Between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. the journey will be free for passengers who board the line 3 bus at the town hall stop.
