Javier Mayor and Gemma Selby win in the 40th Cross El Calvari

The Last weekend Benidorm had another event. It was celebrated the second oldest running race in Valencian Community. It is named Cross Calvari, this year was the 40th edition, and it was organized by Brotonsy Group, Festa el Calvari, and Club Atletismo Benidorm. On this edition were 120 runners in adults category, and 400 athletesin young category.

In the major category, the winner was Javier Mayor Herce who arrived at the finish line with 27:39 minutes. The second was Manuel Tirado Jiménes (27:52) and the third one was Antonio Tirado Serrano del CA Benidorm (29:13). The race had 8000 m distance, and it toured arrownd Levante Beach.

In Female category the results were: The winner was Gemma Ann Serby (32:42), on second place was Pilar Rodriguez (35:00) and the third one was Estela Ortuño (36:39).

On young category were 425 runners coming from Benidorm schools. They ran different distances in distinct categories that were: cadet, infantile, alevin, benjamín, prebenjamín and babies. The race crowed the streets at Benidorm downtown.

Finally, there was delivered Diego Cano Enguera awards, that every year it is been awarded to a festive institute, an athlete or an sports association. This awards that turned to 22th aniversary. it was given to Miguel Bou Bernabeu who is a swimmer and The Llugueret awards was to Jaime Pérez Llorens on the occasion of his comminment in patronal feasts.
